Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
It was originally developed in the 1970’s by two American
Psychologists, Richard Bandler and John Grinder and is widely used by many famous people throughout the world, President Obama is just one of its advocates.
They noticed a connection linking neurological processes, language and
learnt behaviour patterns. Thus the name Neuro representing the
neurological aspect, linguistic the speech content and programming
the learnt behaviour patterns.
They realized that by exploring this link they could create a therapy
which would enable people to easily change their negative habits and
beliefs, allowing them to achieve greater success in their lives and
attain their own personal goals.
The therapy ethos is that by modelling the behaviour of highly successful motivated people using the NLP techniques devised by Bandler and Grinder, can be learnt and successfully incorporated into anybodies life. NLP is widely used in the enhancement of Sports Performance and can also be an invaluable tool in the treatment of depression, learning disorders, habit breaking, phobias and much, much more. It has the added bonus of initiating rapid change, it often takes only one or two sessions.
It is an effective and powerful tool not only to the individual but is
also extensively used in the commercial sector.
